Psych!

I have just started Season 6 of Psych on Netflix.  In high school I was obsessed this show and couldn't wait for the next week to watch it again.  Recently I had been looking for a new show to watch when I realized that I was behind a season in Psych.  I watched the first episode of the sixth season and was hooked once again!  Shawn is so funny in it!  I love the Shawn and Gus banter back and forth.  I also am impressed with how clean the show is.  There are rarely even swear words which I find refreshing.  I would highly recommend Psych to anyone that likes to laugh!

Hint: there are hidden pineapples in each episode (like I Spy) and it's harder than you think!

World's Most Insane Rope Swing

I love how creative people are!  This video just makes me want to do something crazy.  These are the same guys that did the rope swing at the Arches in Utah if you have seen that video.  Watch it!  It is pure entertainment!

Media is Vegas

This weekend I went to Las Vegas.  Let me just say how shocked I was at all of the trashy media displayed there.  The main audience for the advertisements in Las Vegas is targeted at men.  Las Vegas is prime evidence of the power of the media.  The sad truth is that Sex Sells!  Vegas is always crowded and busy with people spending money based on the ads they see.  Just walking around the city I was appalled at how much is allowed in the media.  I think that there should be limits on what they are allowed to show.    

Elder Bednar

This weekend my ward has Stake Conference.  We had the amazing opportunity to hear Elder Bednar speak to us.  During the Saturday Session he spoke on the power of the strength of God.  He made the whole congregation a promise.  He invited all of us to read through the Book of Mormon and mark every time it states "In the Strength of the Lord" or something to that effect.  Elder Bednar gave us an apostolic promise that if we truly studied these instances int he Book of Mormon we would feel the strength of the Lord in our personal lives.  The power behind his words struck the whole congregation.  I know that Elder Bednar is a man of God and holds the Priesthood keys in our dispensation.  I am so thankful for the opportunity I had to shake his hand and feel of his power.    

On a side note everybody thinks that my dad looks like Elder Bednar....you be the judge.

SUPER BOWL!!!

I love the Super Bowl Commercial!  This one by GoPro was hilarious!  I thought they did a great job of grabbing the viewers attention.  Also it doesn't hurt that the baby is just ADORABLE!!!  This year the commercials were average in comparison to previous years.

This week has been a rough week and I happened upon this on Facebook.  These picture depict The Top 26 Moments That Restored Our Faith In Humanity This Year.  The media in the world is so focused on the tragic, depressing, horrible events in the world.  This post on BuzzFeed highlighted the good in the world.  We all need a reminder sometimes that people are capable of amazing things!  The majority of people in our society want to lend a helping hand and as a community we need to emphasis these moments!  After reading through this top 26 list I felt so INSPIRED to do service for others.  I realized that my problem this week was that I was so focused on myself and did not take the time to stop and think of the other people around me.  Media is not just for a mindless thing we interact with daily but can be a source to encourage positive ACTION!
